Markets are still very slack with the possible exception of SMP which seems to be finding some legs.

USA SMP is now 3-4 cents/lb higher than late spring offerings. SMP though is still being sold to the CCC .....

Butterfat is still very sluggish


 

            SMP seems to only be still tight in the EU, where beef sales are making a comeback in view of the Avian Flu, and as a reult veal feeders are the big customers.

Butterfat is a "dog" just about everywhere
 

            March 17th, 2006:

Unofficial reports in some areas in the USA show a 3% increase in March milk production. There are also confirmed reports of NFDM being sold to the CCC ....
